Tarvisio is known to many as the last village before the Italian cross over into Austria or Slovenia. It rises 754 meters above sea level in the charming Val Canale, very special because from the geographical point of view is not part of Italy, but is included in Danube Basin.
It is a paradise for Nordic skiing with about 100km of trails, which wind through the woods and nature. For those who love downhill skiing, however, the resort is equipped with modern lifts and about 15 km of slopes, located at a few hundred meters from the highway. Check out the long trail Prampero that, starting from Mount Lussari, leads to the valley after about four kilometers of descent.

Sella Nevea in the finals of the 2012 Free

The circuit will be completed in early 2012 in Sella Nevea April 29 with Adrenaline Freeride Canin because of the few snowfalls this season. The finalists are allowed athletes who achieved at least a useful result in the qualifying stages and the riders that the organizers have given wild cards available, for a total of 45 competitors. The prize money of 10,000 euros will be provided in the technical material.

Forni di Sopra, a new lift and investments in the Varmost area

A few days after the agreement by Promotur of the construction of a new gondola in Forni di Sopra, it is also signed an agreement to transform ex hostel of Oda in the Mauria versant in a new facility with 400 beds. The project the realization of the link-Varmost Mauria is ongoing.

Tarvisio will host the Alpine Ski "Trofeo Topolino" until 2014

Tarvisio to be host for the next three years the Trofeo Topolino alpine ski, an event born in 1957 and has been the launching pad for some of the greatest Italian nationals, such as Alberto Tomba, Marc Girardelli and Gustav Thoeni. From 2012 to 2014, the''Topolino'' will have a home in Friuli, after a thirty-year partnership with Trentino. In 2012 the national phase of the competition will be held on 27 and 28 February and from 1 to March 3 will go into the international scene.

The emotions of the Sky Race Friulian Dolomites are coming back. Unesco: the Dolomites become Universal Heritage of Humanity

The World Heritage Committee has officially entered the Dolomites in the list of Universal Heritage of Humanity UNESCO. A decision on the nomination submitted by the Italian government was taken unanimously by the 21 members of the UNESCO committee, meeting in Seville.
