At about 80 km from Turin, on the former State 23, Sestriere, is the largest centre of Val Chisone for winter tourism and as a summer resort.
Pragelato is a collection of different settlements raised between 1500 m. and 1,700 m. altitude, built to host the first permanent residents since the end of the century.
It saw a significant increase in its reputation after having hosted ski jump and Nordic combined at the Winter Olympics in Turin in 2006.
Pragelato offers tourists thirty-five kilometers of snow-covered slopes which is well maintained with panoramic views of incomparable beauty, for beginners and experienced skiers. Here, in addition to downhill skiing there are good tracks for cross-country skiing and an ice-skating rink.
