Only 20 kilometers from Aosta is the regional capital, accessible by car, or even with a convenient cable running from a yard located near the railway station which was renewed for the winter season 2008/2009. The ski area covers 12 square km, 70 km of slopes between 1800m and 2700m and includes 13 lifts, mainly chairlifts. They have also installed nearly 400 snow cannons for artificial snow, covering most of the tracks.

After the acquisition by the Région Autonome Vallée d'Aoste and a long decade of restoration work, now the Forte di Bard shines in all its grandeur.
