Sappada is a beautiful resort located at 1,200 meters altitude in the eastern Dolomites, on the border with Austria and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Plodn, as it is also known originates from the ancient dialect. Previously a popular resort for German families, the Germans left an unmistakable mark in the resort architecturally. The typical beautiful wooden houses built far apart to prevent fires from reaching the centre of the resort.
Sappada offers its guests a ski area divided into two zones, for a total of 21 km of downhill. Cross-country skiing is practiced on a track that is 20 km through the woods and there are circuits for beginners.
