Teams competed in a variety of disciplines, with prizes including 1,500 Swiss francs (?1,220) for the fastest team to deliver presents to the children of the world. ClauWau has taken place annually since 2011. Events include chimney climbing, relay races, skiing, rifle shooting and a costume contest, among others. Costumes of each team are judged by their authenticity, originality and overall appearance, with a top prize for the team most embodying Father Christmas of 300 Swiss francs (?244). After the first round of competition, the field of 32 teams will be reduced to four, with the top squads facing off in the evening for the right to be called Santa Claus World Champions.
