The Saas Valley includes the villages of Saas-Fee, Saas Balen, Saas Grund, and Saas Almagell.
The village of Saas Fee, closed to traffic, is situated on a plateau surrounded by 13 four thousand meter peaks. One of these, Allalin, was renamed "Swiss Glacier Mountain" and allows skiing until late May.
You can ski on 100 km of slopes and trails, snowy glaciers which add another 45 km. If you include the two ski areas of Saas Grund and Saas Almagell which are not connected by pistes, there is another 45 km for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, a toboggan run of 11 km and two snow parks.
Saas-Fee is the most famous town of Saas Valley in the canton of Valais. It is located at 1803 m above sea level and has 1607 inhabitants.

Freeride World Tour is announcing the third season

The Freeride World Tour announces its third season. The world's best skiers and snowboarders will yet again be battling it out in four of the world's most prestigious ski resorts. It will all start on the Russian slopes of Sochi in January followed closely by the next stage in Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France. The Tour will then journey to the United States to “ride” the mythical Tram Face, that has not yet officially been cleared for a freeriding competition. Finally, those riders with the top ratings will compete in the Tour's grand final in Verbier during the Nissan Xtreme by Swatch which celebrates its 15th year. Get ready for the ride…or breathtaking action guaranteed!

This coming July 18th will see the 7th edition of the Saas-Fee Ride. The competition will be held in the stunning glacial terrain park of the Swiss resort. The Saas-Fee Ride 09 will showcase a perfectly built Big Air kicker for riders to session and attract athletes from all over Europe to throw it down and express their interpretation of modern day skiing.

4th World Stars Ski Event in Samnaun

Rarely can fans get so close to the stars. Samnaun is where sports celebrities come together. On 30th and 31st January 2009, nearly 40 stars will gather for the "4th World Stars Ski Event" to raise money for disadvantaged children around the world. Patron and co-founder of the Monegasque Association is none other than Prince Albert II of Monaco, who will be personally attending the event.
