Gstaaad is a local aristocracy 'Bernese Oberland, located at 1050 m. altitude, in the territory of the municipality of Saanen.
The ski area Saanenland covers 250 km of downhill slopes served by 66 lifts, divided into four sectors unconnected by skis: Schönried (Snow Paradise), Gstaad-Rougemont, Château d'Oex and Glacier 3000 ( where you can practice summer skiing).
The skiing is best known in Schönried, a couple of miles from Saanen. Zweisimmen, St. Stephen and Saanenmöser Schönried form the ski resort of Snow Paradise, which spans approximately 120 kilometers of tracks, for the most part these are easy slopes.
