Located in Alta Val di Susa at 1312m., Bardonecchia is a mountain town that combines the charm of a small village with the most typical of modern cities. It was chosen as the venue for the competitions of the Olympic Games Snowboarding in 2006. Already after the first world war tourists could reach the area with special "snow trains" that linked to Turin.
Today it is a famous ski resort divided into four parts: Camp Smith, Les Arnauds, Melezet and Jafferau for a total of about 100 km of pistes, of which 38km have snow making facilities. To reach Bardonecchia is extremely easy and convenient as it is served by a highway that leads from Turin up to the Frejus tunnel.
