The Italian Snowboard and Skicross Championships are starting in Piancavallo

This morning at the elegant setting of the Palazzo Ragazzoni-Flangini in Sacile, the absolute Italian snowboard and ski championships were presented, which will be held from Monday 25th to Sunday 31st March in Piancavallo (PN).
The event organized by the Ski Club Sacile and the Sci Club 5 Cime in collaboration with the Ski Club Aviano and the Ski Club Maniago, will see all the best snowboarders in Italy and many foreign athletes from Europe start on the slopes of the Friulian area. North America and even South Korea, China and Japan. An event therefore that is not limited to national borders but that will be included in the calendar of international FIS competitions. The big news of the last hour concerns the inclusion in the tight program of races of the Italian Skicross Championship which will be held Friday, March 29, immediately after the senior snowboard cross competitions. The long tricolor week of Piancavallo will open on Monday 25 with the draw and the delivery of the bibs of the races of the PSL that will be disputed the following day starting from 09.15 and that they will see at the start among others also Roland Fischnaller eight times winner of the World Cup, Nadya Ochner, winner of a Cup race in Cortina, and the rising star of Italian snowboard Daniele Bagozza, fresh on the slopes of Secret Garden in China. Wednesday will be the day dedicated to PSG, Thursday the banked slalom acrobats will take to the track, while on Friday 29 there will be the chance to see the snowboard cross aces captained by the Olympic champion Michela Moioli, by the world bronze Emanuel Perathoner and by Omar Visintin iridescent silver in Park City in the team trial paired with Michela Moioli. The last two days of the weekend will be reserved for the Criterium Children-Pulcini, Saturday SBX and giant Sunday. At the presentation of the absolutes, in addition to the presidents of the organizing companies, various authorities took part, highlighting the importance of this event in terms of economic impact on the territory. Maurizio Dunnhofer President of the Fisi FVG Committee underlined how Piancavallo is the main place for snowboarding in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Since the Winter Universiade 2003 the competitions of this discipline have been held on the slopes of the mountain town of the Pordenone area which, in the following years, has seen its offer of tracks, parks and ad hoc structures widen, thanks to regional public investments that have allowed it to continue to host major and important events dedicated to snowboarding and skicross. The confirmation are these absolute 2019 Tricolori that will also serve as test event for the competitions of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) - winter edition - that Friuli Venezia Giulia will host in 2023.
