San Domenico is one of the municipality of Varzo located at 1410 m. above sea level, Val Cairasca, a side valley of Val Divedro, part of the Ossola valleys. San Domenico is the starting point for the runs of Ciamporino and is appreciated both for the completeness, either as it is a town within easy reach from Lombardy and Piedmont.
Alpine skiing is practiced among the 1420 m of the village of San Domenico to the 2535 meters of Dosso, on 32 km of slopes. In sunny basin of Ciamporino are easy slopes and wide suitable for beginners, while the Passo Sella and Dosso there are some tracks that are approved for the super-G and Downhill that will satisfy the most experienced skiers.
The opening is typically guaranteed from early December to early May due to a very high quality natural snow. The lifts are modern and comfortable with quad chairs and esaposto last generation that provide skiers and snowboarders fast ascents and relaxing. Among them is the chair lift Dosso, Porsche Design, with chairs that rotate 45 degrees to allow all users to experience a unique travel experience and enjoy the view of the plain of Devero and the Massif Diei.
Strategically located in the center of San Domenico, in the extreme tip of Piedmont that meets the Swiss Alps, Hotel La Vetta is the ideal place to experience the mountain all year round, the perfect refuge for a getaway from the city: here to regenerate it is enough just to fill the eyes and the heart of nature, mountains and pure air.
Work begins on the cable car that goes from the Staffa hamlet to the middle station of the Alpe Bill. This is the first intervention of the project born to relaunch tourism in the Piedmontese ski resort.
At the Alpe di Mera, thanks to the abundant snowfall at the end of the season, ski mountaineering enthusiasts will still be able to have fun in this end of the season despite the fact that the lifts have stopped working on 7 April.

From March 29th to 31st in Prato Nevoso the Grand Finale of the Acqua San Bernardo Snow Volley Tour 2019 will be held, now in its fifth edition. A volleyball tournament where everyone can participate, amateur teams side by side with international level champions and fun until late at night.
