Located at 1790 meters altitude, Stack is in the midst of a vast sunny meadows, framed by beautiful woods of firs and larches. From Stack you can see a beautiful landscape in front of the most important 4km in the Alps: Mont Blanc to the Grand Combin, the Matterhorn to Monte Rosa, from the glaciers of Ruitor and Grivola. Only 20 kilometers from Aosta is the regional capital, accessible by car, or even with a convenient cable running from a yard located near the railway station which was renewed for the winter season 2008/2009. The ski area covers 12 square km, 70 km of slopes between 1800m and 2700m and includes 13 lifts, mainly chairlifts. They have also installed nearly 400 snow cannons for artificial snow, covering most of the tracks.
