At the last seasonal race of the freestyle World Cup Silvia Brittany yesterday hit her first and only podium of the winter, the seventh in her career, the third in the specialty, finishing third in the slopestyle of Silvaplana, a Swiss resort in the Upper Engadine and from the canton of Graubünden a stone's throw from St. Moritz.
The 32-year-old from Val Gardena, seventh in the qualifying rounds, was fourth after the first run with 65.65 points but then she managed to overtake the Swiss Sarah Hoefflin in the second and climb to the lowest step of the podium with 76.11 points. The race won by the Canadian Megan Oldham with 84.51 points ahead of the French Tess Ledeux with 77.98, the North American also takes home the specialty trophy with 1 point ahead of Hoefflin, in this ranking Silvia closes fifth . The Swiss Andi Ragettli won the men's race with 93.71 points, ahead of the American Colby Stevenson with 92.23 and the other Swiss Fabian Boesch with 91.25. No blue in the final, the specialty cup goes to the other American Mac Forehand.
