Val d'Ultimo extends south-west of Merano to the Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio. It starts with the location of wool, covered with vineyards and chestnut woods, ending at altitudes close to ten thousand feet with the glacier Ortles in the south-east. The landscape, mountain and rural setting, has all the features of traditional Tyrolean valleys: old farmsteads inhabited by native people of the valley, green meadows thick forests and high mountains.
On both fronts, north and south of Val Venosta Val di Non, over 700 km of trails are a paradise for hikers.
The ski resort Schwemmalm, which extends up to 2600 m above sea level, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks of the massif Ortler. It offers 18 Km of trails for downhill skiing and 25km for cross-country skiing, 2 circuits for sledding, 3 skating rinks, a curling plate and après-ski with an exceptionally hospitable reception.
