Chamonix is a popular resort about 1035 meters above sea level, at the foot of the French side of Mont Blanc. It is easily accessible from major cities of northern Italy. The first edition of the Winter Olympic Games took place in Chamonix in 1924.
It is located just after the exit from the Mont Blanc tunnel, but sheltered from the heavy traffic that is diverted away from the village. It offers the possibility to ski on Mont Blanc down off-piste routes, going all 'Aiguille du Midi through the Mer de Glaces on the opposite side, on upper-Brevent Flegere.
The ski-Brevent Flegere is the widest in the area and can be accessed from the centre of Chamonix Les Praz. You can ski on wide areas from 1030 to 2525 meters. The zones, connected by a cable, are oriented to the south and offers a magnificent view of Mont Blanc.
