In an interview with FISI.org, technical director Silvio Fauner examines the possibilities of the Italian team: "We are beginning a fascinating but tough - explains the trainer - In the men's ranking is our man ; definitely Roland Clara. The prologue is not appropriate for him because he is too short, in the first two stages will have to think particularly on the defensive. We look forward to the pursuit of Oberhof, I'm curious to see the work particularly Hofer in the initial prologue, Checchi has done as good things in recent weeks and Pellegrino has shown competitive in sprints. Dobbiaco-The Cortina is in doubt because of lack of snow, we'll see what happens over the next few days. In the women remains much to discover, the Brocard can do well in the prologue, the engineers were curious to see De Martin in a classic pursuit. Clearly we do not have women of rank, but we hope to experience. "
Fiemme, in addition to the races on Saturday (20 km 10 km men and women, CT) and Sunday (9 km Final Climb TL) in 2012 will also track the "Ramp with the Champions" scheduled at 10:00 on Sunday 8 January. This is a unique event of its kind, which allows athletes but also to simple fans of skiing, from players to live the electrifying atmosphere of the World Cup. And not on any track, because the "ramp" an exact reflection of what many considered the most incredible leg of the circuit, the final climb of the Cermis. Maximum gradient 28%, a long series of switchbacks and walls, toward the final set in the arrival area of the middle station of the cable: This is the challenge that awaits the "rampisti" and even in less than two weeks there will always be the big the starting line.
Event as the "ramp with the Champions" attracts great attention and curiosity also specialists from other disciplines, because, as mentioned, only the fact that they go up a mountain with ski trails, surrounded by thousands of enthusiasts and fans of the sport, is something unique. Certainly thinks so too the former champion of the Austrian Ski Flying Andreas Goldberger, three times winner of the crystal ball and gold medal at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2001 and the Ski Flying World Championships in 1996. ; At the start of the "ramp" there will be athletes and amateurs from, among others, from Austria, Sweden and Russia, and for those who want to be there and spend a day with the champions of champions entries close on December 31.
