Bielmonte is a small resort situated in the mountains of biellese at an altitude of 1510 m and is surrounded by alpine landscapes of great scenic and environmental value.
Despite the urban centre it is not very big. Bielmonte is able to offer a ski area with good facilities which serve about 20 km of slopes for skiing and many cross-country skiing areas.
From the slopes, always sunny and winding on two different sides of the mountain, you can enjoy a very impressive scene, especially at sunset when the sun sets slowly behind the massive Monviso.

Pistes, including between 1300 and 1650 m. sea level, are easily accessible from parking lots. Bielmonte is also one of the few places in Italy to have a piste approved for skiing a speed kilometer run.

For the smaller visitors a special and well equipped playground in the snow is proided by dedicated youth workers. After the winter season, the bobsleigh track from the top of the mountain is opened ensuring there is year round fun for children.

Monterosa Ski announces new lifts for season 2009/2010

The 2009-2010 winter season it seems full of news for those who frequent the area Monterosa Ski, between Valle d'Aosta and Piedmont, thanks to major investments that the District is putting on track to meet an increasingly demanding customer base, from the new funifor Passo dei Salati - Indren and impressive funicular Frachey - Ciarcerio.

The Monviso, with its 3841 meters high, stands out clearly above the Alpi Cozie constitutes its highest summit, and famous. No western mountains of the Alps, except the Matterhorn, is known as this huge rocky pyramid visible from almost anywhere away from the plains of Milan in the days more terse. Rises and majestic and isolated, although not reaching € 4000 for only 150 meters, it still shows the appearance of a mountain rather harsh and demanding on which were measured some of the greatest names in history.

On 19 April 2009 will be disputed, the 17th edition of the Trofeo Mezzalama, beginning at Breuil Cervinia, through the Val d'Ayas and ends in Gressoney Valley. A marathon with classic equipment, whether international, starting in line open to teams of three athletes / and roped. A challenge along a difficult path that winds especially over three thousand meters, passing in two even four thousand. The pre-enrollment for the year 2009 came to 397 teams, compared with 260 two years ago to 115, 2005. Each team has three athletes. A contract is regulated by FISI (Italian Federation of Winter Sports) and the 'ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation).

Three days of competition in order to define the best Freeriders among the 132 riders from over 10 Countries, which arrived at Gressoney to race the third edition of Winter Mystic Xperience Monterosa 2009, included in the Freeride World Qualifier Calendar. The Monterosa Ski Resort showed its huge potential as Freeride playground, offering a limitless numbers of faces to race. Mysticfreeride staff with the precious cooperation of Monterosa Ski Area Patrol chose the best ones to let the rider showing their skills on the best snow. The hard wind of the previous days transformed the snow pack from deep powder to stucked surface in many faces.
