The novelty of the 59th Trento Film Festival, starts from April 28

From April 28 to May 8 Trento will again be the international capital of the mountain with the 59th Trento Film Festival, which is proposed as a meeting point for the presentation and promotion of films and videos of all nationalities.
"There were more than 330 works and will be offered to the public more than a hundred in total. The double date with Reinhold Messner that after six years returned to the Festival to talk about two important chapters in the history of the photographic exhibition by David Breashears that documents the consequences of climate change in the Himalayas, the 25 editions of MontagnaLibri are some of the many excellences that qualify this year and arose from shared projects, and by 'doing rete'con new players, with fellow travelers new and old, in response unavoidable to lower revenues "are the words expressed by President Egidio Bonapace to present the event.
For the first time will present two films by Werner Herzog, who will lead the audience in different and distant destinations such as the prehistoric caves of Chauvet in France and the Siberian Taiga. But it will be just the beginning, because as usual you can read the program projections as the route of a crazy journey around the world, from the summits inaccessible to most exotic or extreme scenarios, discovered through eyes never trivial.
But the real novelty of the 2011 Trento Film Festival are two. The first is the "Destination ..." is dedicated this year to Finland. The second one is the "near horizon" created by the comparison and collaboration with Trentino Film Commission, who will present each year at Trent the best of the films produced in Trentino-Alto Adige and the works of authors born or active here.
Among the events will be the inauguration of the Mountain Park Trades whose purpose is to bring school children between 9 and 12 years of primary and secondary schools of the Province of Trento to the themes of the festival: film and mountain, through a proposal centered teaching the crafts of mountain yesterday and today.
Finally can not miss "MontagnaLibri", the international review of mountain through which the public will have the opportunity to browse among more than a thousand guides, essays, books, photography books and magazines for hundreds of publishers from around the world on the environment, geology, archeology, history, war, economics, arts, crafts and ethnography.
